Looking for something else to Paint?

The other day I was in my craft/painting/guest room
trying to bring in some order...

I laid down on the carpet, for a moment to rest and looked
up at the ceiling,and marvelled....
well it's not exactly the Sistine Chapel or anything,
 but I thought it looked,
well.... charming...

Several years ago,
before my youngest daughter got married,
she asked if I would paint something on her ceiling.

So I did, it was done almost entirely with three or four
different stencils.  I went around and around
the room adding one layer at a time.

It was quite an undertaking, and I don't think I'd do it again.
In fact, I get a neck ache just thinking about it.

Overall though, I think it turned out very sweet and
when the grandchildren spend the night,
 they like looking at it.

  1. It is charming! As a ceiling painter, I do understand what you went through to get that effect. And I also can understand why you wouldn't do it again! It's terrific!

  2. Wow! This is marvelous work...just wonderful! You are very talented. Great work, I'll be sure to follow!

  3. That is the prettiest ceiling I've ever seen. lovely Merry Christmas,xx jeanetteann

  4. Your stenciled ceiling is stunning! I'm sure it was quite a job. I stenciled a medallion around my chandelier and that was enough for me!

  5. What a lovely ceiling and what a lovely part of the country you live in!

  6. Wow, that is so pretty! My neck hurts just thinking of doing something like this but I love the look! Thanks for linking up last weekend, hope you can come back again this weekend! You're a great mom for doing this for your daughter!

  7. This is one of the most beautiful sights I've seen all week! So delicate and feminine. Thank you for sharing!

  8. Oh wow - it looks fantastic! I really like it, but don't think I could ever do it! yes, makes my neck ache, too, just thinking about it! It really is pretty, though!
