I found this luxuriously rich lace tablecloth at a
yard sale this past summer.

This tablecloth almost looks handmade,
with much depth and character. The feel of it
is very weighty, (for lack of a better term).

It measured approximately 96" x 60" and the best
part is that I only paid $1.00 for it. (woo hoo!!!)
With care, I washed and bleached it out. Knowing
exactly what I wanted to do...
make lace curtains for my dining room.
Today, when I went to visit my daughter, Shannon,
We laid the tablecloth out on the floor,
and cut it in half...

Then, I had my oldest granddaughter,
Ellen, help me by sewing the rod pockets
and ruffle at the top.
Ellen is 17 and is becoming quite the
seamstress. She makes clothes for her
younger sisters, and sells very sweet dresses
on her own blog:
I took them home and hung them up,
I love the soft light that filters in.
They have an lovely look and feel.
These windows face east so that I get
the morning light...
I am very pleased with the way they turned out.
Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThat is just beautiful! Well done. The light shining thru the lace is so pretty.
