Morning Ride

"over the river and through the woods..."

This quaint little town is nestled in the hills, just inviting
you to a frosty morning sleigh ride. Notice the
quaint rock bridge, and the snow ladened trees, the frosted
over pond and river, the children in the background
 making a snow man.
Wouldn't you just love to visit here?

I have printed my original watercolor
painting 'Morning Ride' onto cards.

I have used lovely, heavy, feather-edged cardstock cards.
I have softened up the edges of the print to give a
more dramatic overall frosted look.
They are blank inside and come with matching
 feather-edged envelopes.

And of course, I have added a smattering of ultra
fine glitter, must have glitter, onto some of
the snowy parts to give that early morning frosty look.

I have listed these cards as an individual card,
sets of five, sets of ten, or sets of twenty. If you
require more of them, please e-mail me or
convo me through my
shop.

Birthday Month

It's fall, it's football, it's birthday month!!

Three of my dear grandchildren have birthdays this week.
My oldest grandson, John, is a big Seattle Seahawks fan.

A couple of years ago, I attempted a Seahawk logo cake
for his birthday. I think it turned out pretty good,
for a non cake decorator person like myself.

Well anyways, John liked it.
And what's not to like about the Seahawks?
(except, of course, when they're not winning)

Snowman

"There's snow one like you!"

It's true, there isn't, you're one of a kind.

"My frame was not hidden from You when I was
being formed in secret and intricately and curiously
wrought, as if embroidered with various colors....."
Psalm 139:15 (Amplified version)

This is the first of my winter/holiday cards. I will
be posting more over the next month or so.

This greeting card, and many more can be
seen at my ETSY store.

Tablecloth Transformation

I found this luxuriously rich lace tablecloth at a
yard sale this past summer.

This tablecloth almost looks handmade,
with much depth and character. The feel of it
is very weighty, (for lack of a better term).

It measured approximately 96" x 60" and the best
part is that I only paid $1.00 for it.  (woo hoo!!!)

With care, I washed and bleached it out. Knowing
exactly what I wanted to do...
make lace curtains for my dining room.

Today, when I went to visit my daughter, Shannon,
We laid the tablecloth out on the floor,
 and cut it in half...

Then, I had my oldest granddaughter,
Ellen, help me by sewing the rod pockets
  and ruffle at the top.

Ellen is 17 and is becoming quite the
seamstress.  She makes clothes for her
younger sisters, and sells very sweet dresses
 on her own blog:

I took them home and hung them up,

I love the soft light that filters in.

They have an lovely look and feel.

These windows face east so that I get
 the morning light...

I am very pleased with the way they turned out.

Quaint Mountain Village

There is a town in Washington State that I love to visit,
it is called Leavenworth.

All of the buildings are built in the Bavarian style so that you get
an idea of what a German town might look like. Having never been
to Germany myself, I can only guess. All the shops carry different
kinds of European ware.

Early morning in the crisp October air

There are toy stores, clock stores, a chocolate factory, linens and
draperies, bakeries, wine tasting, a beer garten and cheese mart,
a nutcracker shop,a porceline doll boutique, a gingerbread bakery
and of course German cuisine restaurants and much much more.

So fun to walk around in and enjoy the sights, sounds and smells.
The smell of bratwurst wafting through the air at Octoberfest and
at other times ,and of course, outdoor music.

It is located in the eastern foothills of the Cascade Range where
there is lots of snow in the winter time.
.
That is where I got the inspiration for this painting  It is a
compilation of some of the surrounding sights.

I have printed cards of the painting, just in time for Octoberfest.
I have chosen the ultra felt feather-edged cards to print on and
they come with matching feather-edged envelopes.

These would make a lovely gift for someone or use them yourself.
I have smattered a little bit of ultra fine crystal glitter on the river
section to give it that moving water look. These cards and many
others are available at my  ETSY   store.

Blackbird

I love the colors of the autumn season. They all seem to blend
together somehow, sun baked, sun colors.  This blackbird is
perched upon a frosty pumpkin. The three pumpkins stand out
from each other in a 3D fashion.  Also the row of glittery leaves
pop out from the card.  This fall card and many other all occasion
greeting cards can be found in my  ETSY shop

how they will raise the youngins...
